Chiropractic Care at De Cotiis Chiropractic Wellness
Pitman Chiropractor: Doctors of Chiropractic are the only health care professionals who are thoroughly trained in the detection, location and correction of vertebral subluxations. It requires years of training and clinical practice for a chiropractor to master the analysis and procedures needed to understand and correct subluxations.
We utilize 9 different chiropractic techniques dependent upon the individual patient’s condition and goals. All of these techniques are gentle with low force impact.
What is a Vertebral Subluxation?
In simplest terms, a subluxation (a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine get stuck out of position and irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves to all parts of your body.
How does this affect you? Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals traveling over nerves, parts of your body will not get the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100% of their innate abilities. In other words, some part of your body will not be working properly.
It is the responsibility of the Doctor of Chiropractic to locate subluxations, and correct them. This is done through a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations and posture distortions in your spine. Chiropractors are the only professionals who undergo years of training to become experts at correcting subluxations.
Why You Should Go to a Chiropractor
Part of the chiropractic approach involves determining whether the body’s natural structure has caused problems with the functions in other areas of your body because of reactions in the nervous system. Structural changes can affect the nerves and the spinal cord by affecting the normal communication of information from the brain to the rest of the body.
Along with specialized chiropractic treatment, Dr. John De Cotiis and the team at De Cotiis Chiropractic Wellness will provide you with rehabilitation exercises, advice on posture and stress management and nutritional advice. The most important aspect of chiropractic care is the comprehensive approach to treatment and management of a patient’s unique condition.
